Welcome to KingFest25 – this is a celebration of our parish community and the 100th anniversary of the Kingswear Village Hall. This December, Kingswear, Maypool and Hillhead come together for a brand-new Christmas festival: KingFest25. From festive markets to carols, crafts to sea shanties, we’re filling the parish with music, laughter and community cheer.
✨ What’s On
- 🚌 Free Bus Service – Connecting Maypool – Hillhead – Kingswear
- 🥁Drumming Welcome – Taiko drummers wake you up and have a try afterwards
- 🎄 Christmas Market & Stalls – festive gifts, handmade crafts, and local produce
- 🎨 Children’s Activities – place setting making, face painting, and Christmas drawings
- 🌲Centrepiece Making🎟️ – creative workshop for all ages (maximum 10 participants)
- 🔔 Bell Ringing & Light Switch-On – see the parish sparkle
- 🎶 Carol Concert – mince pies and mulled wine in the church, sing along or just enjoy
- 🎉 Evening Food, Bar, Music & Dancing🎟️ – a chance to eat, drink and be merry together with sea shanties and live sets to keep the night buzzing (maximum 70 participants)
📅 Festival Schedule
- 12:00pm-10:00pm – Hourly bus service
- 1:00pm – Drumming welcome
- 2:00–4:00pm
- Tea & cakes 2–4 club style in the upper hall
- Market stalls in the lower hall
- Wreath making in the upper hall
- Children’s activities in the lower hall
- 4:30pm – Bell ringing
- 5:00pm – Christmas light switch-on
- 5:30–6:30pm – mince pies & mulled wine in the church followed by carols
- 6:30pm – Buffet & bar open in the upper hall
- Evening – Live music & sea shanties
- 10:30pm – Carriages
